Hi Y’all, I’m a 50-year-old woman moving from NY to Raleigh and starting over after a divorce, which feels exciting and mildly terrifying at the same time.
I used to work in HR hiring home caregivers in NY, and one thing I noticed in Raleigh is that while housing and food seem cheaper compared to NY, anything involving human labor and services costs a lot more. Which made me question continuing in caregiver recruiting because the shortage of physical workforce seems very real here.
I’ve been considering going back to school for an esthetician license as well.
Right now I’m trying to figure out what realistic jobs make sense for someone my age starting over alone, with myself as my only source of income.
