‘Backwards tricycle’ has seniors moving forward
At 84 years old, Michael Junge is proving that age is truly just a number, not a speed limit. This remarkable senior is behind the handlebars of what some might affectionately call a ‘backwards tricycle,’ but is more formally known as a trishaw – a specialized, pedal-powered vehicle designed to bring smiles and fresh air to others.
These unique trishaws feature a comfortable front cabin for passengers, allowing two individuals to enjoy the ride while a trained pilot, like Junge, cycles them through scenic routes, parks, and local neighborhoods. It’s a fantastic way to offer seniors a liberating outdoor experience, foster new connections, and provide a sense of adventure for those who might otherwise have limited access to such outings.
